Ørland Airport (OLA), also known as Brekstad Airport, serves as the civilian sector of the Ørland Main Air Station, a major Royal Norwegian Air Force base. The airport features a single, compact passenger terminal that was significantly renovated in 2007 to provide a modern and efficient environment for regional travelers. Its small scale ensures an easy-to-navigate experience, typically handling flights with approximately 50 passengers. The terminal offers essential amenities designed for short-term transit, including a small cafe that provides light refreshments, snacks, and coffee. While there are no large restaurants or duty-free shops on-site, the facility provides free Wi-Fi throughout the building. Accessibility services are available for passengers with reduced mobility, and the terminal is equipped with practical features such as diaper-changing tables in the restrooms. One of the primary advantages for travelers at Ørland is the availability of free parking located immediately adjacent to the terminal. Rental car services like Avis are present on the field, with a convenient key drop-box at the check-in desk. The airport is primarily served by DAT (Danish Air Transport), offering regular direct connections to Oslo (OSL), and is also accessible via a fast ferry from Trondheim followed by a short taxi or bus ride.
