Gimpo International Airport (GMP) is a major aviation hub serving the Seoul metropolitan area, positioned as the primary domestic gateway for South Korea. Located just 15 kilometers west of central Seoul, the airport manages approximately 28 million passengers annually, complementing the larger Incheon International Airport (ICN). The airport operates with two distinct terminal buildings: the expansive Domestic Terminal, which handles the majority of the airport's traffic, and the International Terminal, which provides regional links to major cities in East Asia. Both terminals are interconnected by an extensive underground corridor and a shared subway station. The facilities at Gimpo are designed for high-volume efficiency and passenger comfort. Both terminal buildings feature a three-level layout, with arrivals on the first floor, check-in on the second, and departures on the third. Inside, travelers find a wealth of modern amenities including duty-free shopping, a wide range of Korean and international restaurants, and several premium airline lounges. The airport is renowned for its ease of navigation and quick processing times, with domestic check-in to gates typically taking less than 15 minutes. The Domestic Terminal is particularly famous for its high-frequency route to Jeju Island (CJU), consistently ranked as one of the world's busiest air corridors. Scheduled commercial services at GMP are robust, with major Korean carriers including Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, and Jin Air providing frequent domestic connections to every major city in the country.
