Opinaca Aerodrome serves as the exclusive air access point to Newmont Corporation's Éléonore Gold Mine, located in the remote James Bay region of northern Quebec. Since this is a private mining airfield owned by Newmont, all flights are pre-arranged charter services - there are no scheduled commercial flights or walk-up passengers.
