Pattani Airport (PAN)

Pattani Airport (PAN) is a domestic aviation facility located in the Bo Thong subdistrict of Nong Chik, approximately 9 miles (15 km) from the town of Pattani in southern Thailand. The airport operates with a single, basic passenger terminal building that primarily serves government and military personnel. As of early 2026, the facility does not host regular scheduled commercial airline services, with most civilian travelers to the region utilizing Hat Yai International Airport (HDY).

The terminal infrastructure is minimal and focused on essential operations, providing a functional waiting area and basic restroom facilities for authorized travelers. While the facility lacks modern commercial amenities like retail shops, restaurants, or currency exchange desks, it acts as a critical base for the Royal Thai Army and Royal Thai Air Force. Travelers are advised to handle all logistical and dining needs in the Pattani town center, as on-site services for the public are limited.

The airfield features a single 4,593-foot (1,400m) asphalt runway (08/26) and is situated at an elevation of 8 feet above sea level. Ground transportation to the airport is informal, and visitors are generally required to arrange pre-booked private transfers or utilize local government assistance. Due to ongoing security concerns in the southern provinces, the facility maintains strict access protocols, and travelers are strongly encouraged to monitor local advisories and coordinate their travel through official channels.
