Olomouc Airport (OLO)

Olomouc Airport (OLO) is a small, public domestic facility located approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) west of the Olomouc city center in Czechia. The airport primarily serves as a hub for recreational flying, air taxi services, and parachuting, rather than scheduled commercial airline traffic. It is the home base for the Hanácký Aeroklub, which manages most of the activities on-site, including flight training and skydiving. The terminal facilities at Olomouc are modest and geared toward the general aviation community and local visitors. One of the most notable features is the "Air Bar," a popular spot for both travelers and the public that offers refreshments, coffee, and local beer at reasonable prices. The building serves as a functional shelter for pilots and passengers, though it lacks the extensive retail and dining options found at larger international hubs. Operationally, the airport features grass runways, with the longest measuring approximately 2,493 feet (760m). All flights are conducted under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) only, as the field is not equipped with instrument landing systems or night lighting. While it provides essential services like AVGAS 100LL fuel, it is not an international airport of entry, and travelers typically connect through larger cities like Brno or Prague via ground transportation.
