Lombok International Airport (LOP)

Lombok International Airport (LOP), officially known as Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, is the primary aviation gateway to the island of Lombok, Indonesia. Located in the town of Praya, approximately 40 kilometers south of the capital city Mataram, the airport operates from a single, modern passenger terminal that handles both domestic and international flights. The facility replaced the older Selaparang Airport in 2011 and is designed to manage large-scale tourism traffic, particularly for visitors heading to the Mandalika and Senggigi resort areas. The terminal building is organized across two main levels to provide a streamlined experience for travelers. The ground floor handles all arrivals, immigration, customs, and baggage claim, while the upper floor is dedicated to the departures zone, check-in counters, and security screening. Inside, passengers have access to a wide range of amenities including several premium lounges such as the Concordia and Sky One lounges in the domestic wing. The facility features a variety of local Indonesian eateries, international coffee chains, and duty-free retail shops. For convenience, the airport provides free high-speed Wi-Fi, numerous charging stations near boarding gates, and dedicated prayer rooms (Musholla). Ground transportation to and from the LOP terminal is well-coordinated, with DAMRI shuttle buses providing cost-effective connections to major island destinations including Mataram and Senggigi. Official airport taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab and Gojek are also readily available outside the arrivals hall. As a primary regional hub, the airport is served by major carriers including Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, and AirAsia, with international links provided by carriers like Scoot. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before domestic departures and three hours for international flights to navigate the modern terminal's efficient security and check-in procedures.
