Independence Airport (INB), also known as Savannah Airport or Mango Creek Airport, is a vital regional aviation facility serving the coastal communities of the Stann Creek District in Belize. Located approximately 4 kilometers inland from the Caribbean Sea, the airport acts as a critical transport hub for both residents and international travelers visiting southern Belize. The terminal infrastructure is characteristically minimalist, consisting of a single, compact building that serves as the primary processing point for domestic flights. Its simple, open-air design reflects the laid-back tropical atmosphere of the region, providing a functional and efficient experience for those arriving or departing. The technical specifications of the airport include a single asphalt runway, designated 07/25, which measures approximately 970 meters (3,182 feet) in length. This runway is perfectly suited for the STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) aircraft that dominate Belizean domestic aviation, such as the Cessna 208 Caravan.
