Hector Silva Airstrip (BCV)

Hector Silva Airstrip (BCV) serves Belmopan, the capital city of Belize, and is located approximately 3.2 kilometers north of the city center. While it is the closest airport to the nation's capital, it primarily functions as a facility for government, military (Belize Defence Forces), and occasional private charter flights. It does not currently host scheduled commercial passenger services; most commercial air travel to Belize is routed through Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. The airstrip features a single paved runway (11/29) that was notably expanded by the British Army in 2002 to accept larger aircraft like the C-130 Hercules, enhancing its logistical capabilities.

Operational procedures at BCV are tailored to its primary function as a government and military airstrip. There are no advanced security checkpoints, baggage handling systems, or traditional check-in counters.
