King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport (GIZ), also known as Jizan Regional Airport, is a significant aviation hub serving the Jizan region in southwestern Saudi Arabia. Located conveniently close to the city center, the airport serves as a critical transport link for the region's agricultural and industrial sectors, particularly the Jazan Economic City. The current facility features a functional terminal that efficiently handles both domestic and international traffic, representing a key component of the Kingdom's southern transportation network.

The existing passenger terminal at GIZ is designed for efficiency and ease of use, with separate zones for arrivals and departures. Inside, travelers find a range of amenities including complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, prayer rooms, and a selection of dining options serving both local and international cuisine. For international passengers, the airport offers duty-free shopping and currency exchange services. The terminal also houses car rental counters and a medical center, ensuring a comprehensive range of services for all visitors to the Red Sea coast.

Scheduled commercial services at Jizan are extensive, with major Saudi carriers including Saudia, flynas, and flyadeal providing frequent daily flights to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam. A massive expansion project is currently underway to replace the existing facility with the brand-new King Abdullah International Airport Jizan. Located 30 kilometers north of the city, this state-of-the-art facility is a key initiative under Saudi Vision 2030 and will feature a modern passenger terminal with 10 aircraft gates and a projected annual capacity of up to 3.6 million passengers. Ground transportation from the current airport remains straightforward, with taxis and ride-sharing services readily available. As the region continues to develop, the new airport will significantly enhance Jizan's connectivity and support its growing role in international trade and tourism.
