President Obiang Nguema International Airport (GEM), also known as Mongomeyén Airport, is a state-of-the-art aviation facility located in the Wele-Nzas province of mainland Equatorial Guinea. Inaugurated in 2012 and expanded in the following years, the airport was built to serve the new planned capital city, Ciudad de la Paz (formerly Oyala), and the nearby city of Mongomo. The facility maintains a 3,000-meter asphalt runway capable of handling large wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 747, positioning it as a strategic hub for government, diplomatic, and commercial travel in the heart of the country's mainland.

The terminal at GEM is a modern and integrated facility designed to handle both domestic and international traffic with high efficiency. Ground transportation from President Obiang Nguema International is well-connected to the region's newly developed highway network, with the city of Mengomeyén located just 1 kilometer to the northeast. Most travelers reach the terminal via private government vehicle, corporate shuttles, or pre-arranged taxis, as there is no extensive public bus or rail system directly serving the airfield. As a single-terminal international facility, there are no inter-terminal transfers, and all passenger movements are managed within the same modern complex.
