Adolfo López Mateos International Airport, officially known as Aeropuerto Internacional Licenciado Adolfo López Mateos, is a major aviation hub located in Toluca, State of Mexico, serving as both the primary airport for the Metropolitan area of Toluca and a secondary airport for Greater Mexico City. Situated at an exceptional elevation of 2,580 meters (8,465 feet) above sea level, it ranks among the world's highest commercial airports, requiring specialized operational procedures and enhanced aircraft performance considerations for high-altitude operations. The airport boasts an impressive 4,310-meter (14,140-foot) runway, making it the second longest in Mexico after Felipe Ángeles International Airport.
