Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport (PUW)

Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport (PUW) is the primary aviation hub serving the Palouse region of southeastern Washington and northern Idaho, located approximately 3 miles from both downtown Pullman and Moscow. The airport operates through a brand-new, state-of-the-art 47,000-square-foot passenger terminal inaugurated in May 2024, which is nearly six times larger than the previous facility. It acts as a critical infrastructure link, connecting the region to major national hubs like Seattle (SEA) and Boise (BOI) via daily scheduled jet services by Alaska Airlines (Horizon Air).

The terminal infrastructure provides a variety of contemporary amenities across its unified layout, featuring three modern gates and the airport's first-ever glass-walled boarding bridges (jetways) for all-weather protection. Travelers have access to a spacious departure lounge with seating for over 160 people, including a unique outdoor seating area and dedicated spaces for local food and beverage concessions. The interior design is a landmark of regional pride, featuring artistic depictions of the rolling Palouse hills and prominent iconography from both Washington State University (WSU) and the University of Idaho (UI), creating a professional and welcoming environment for students, alumni, and business travelers.

Ground transportation at PUW is exceptionally efficient, with on-site car rental desks for three major agencies located directly inside the terminal and an expanded 450-space parking lot featuring automated payment and built-in anti-icing technology for winter safety. Regular municipal bus services provided by Pullman Transit now link the airfield directly to the city's main districts, providing a quick 5 to 10-minute connection to the university campuses.
