Pune Airport / Lohagaon Air Force Station (PNQ)

Pune International Airport (PNQ) is a primary aviation hub serving the city of Pune and the broader Maharashtra region, located in Lohegaon approximately 6 miles (10 km) from the city center. Following a major transformation completed in late 2024, all flight operations have transitioned to the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB), which spans over 52,000 square meters—twice the size of the original facility. It acts as a critical 'Civil Enclave' hub, sharing its runways with the Indian Air Force and connecting the industrial and IT sectors of Pune to major national and international destinations.

The new terminal infrastructure provides a variety of contemporary amenities, featuring a facade inspired by the historic Shaniwar Wada and housing over 34 check-in counters and 25 self-check-in kiosks. Travelers have access to multiple premium spaces like the airside Earth Lounge and the landside Bird Lounge, alongside an extensive 32,000-square-foot food and retail zone offering both local Maharashtrian delicacies and global chains. The facility is fully accessible and features ten modern passenger boarding bridges (aerobridges), free high-speed Wi-Fi, and specialized DigiYatra zones for paperless entry.

Ground transportation at PNQ is exceptionally efficient, featuring a newly constructed multi-level car park (MLCP) with space for over 1,000 vehicles, connected directly to the terminal via a skybridge with escalators. Dedicated pick-up points for ride-sharing apps like Uber and Ola are situated near the exit, while regular PMPML buses and pre-paid taxi stands provide reliable links to the city's main districts and IT parks. Travelers are advised to arrive at least 3 hours before departures due to the facility's high-security status and the complex coordination required for its joint-use operations.
