Pécs-Pogány Airport (PEV)

Pécs-Pogány Airport (PEV) is a primary regional aviation hub serving southern Hungary, located near the village of Pogány approximately 6 miles (10 km) south of the Pécs city center. The airport operates from a single, modern passenger terminal inaugurated in 2003, designed for high efficiency and intuitive navigation with short walking distances throughout. It acts as a critical infrastructure link for the Baranya region, providing a professional base for general aviation, private charters, and soon-to-be-restored regular commercial services.

The terminal infrastructure provides essential amenities across its unified layout, including a comfortable waiting hall and a dedicated on-site café and snack bar that serves hot beverages, sandwiches, and local pastries. Travelers have access to free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building, a specialized mother-and-child room, and a dedicated pilot's lounge for flight crews. While the facility currently lacks large-scale retail shops or duty-free outlets, it is fully barrier-free and provides a streamlined environment for passengers transitioning to regional and international destinations.

Operationally, the airport features a single 4,921-foot (1,500m) asphalt runway and is set to host a major relaunch of scheduled commercial flights to Munich via Lufthansa starting in March 2026. Ground transportation to central Pécs is well-supported by a dedicated shuttle bus service that typically operates on flight days, alongside official taxi ranks located directly outside the terminal exit. The facility also offers approximately 80 free parking spaces situated conveniently in front of the main entrance, ensuring a high level of convenience for both domestic and regional travelers.
