General Bartolomé Salom International Airport (PBL) is a regional aviation facility serving the port city of Puerto Cabello in the Carabobo state of Venezuela. The airport features a single passenger terminal building that has undergone several periods of rehabilitation to support domestic and regional operations. It is strategically positioned approximately 3.7 miles (6 km) west of the city center, near one of the country's most important maritime shipping hubs. The terminal infrastructure provides basic essential services for travelers and pilots, primarily catering to general aviation and private charter flights. While the building includes a functional waiting area and administrative offices, modern commercial amenities like retail shops, restaurants, or luxury lounges are currently limited or unavailable. Travelers are advised to handle significant logistical and dining needs in central Puerto Cabello prior to their arrival at the airfield. Operationally, the airport features a substantial 6,972-foot (2,125m) asphalt runway (11/29) and is managed by the state-owned Bolivariana de Aeropuertos (BAER). While regular scheduled commercial service is currently infrequent, the facility remains an important hub for maritime-related business travel and technical flights.
