The 29,300-square-foot facility represents a dramatic evolution from original lodge-style proposals to a sophisticated two-story structure that balances refined design with exceptional functionality. Operated by Propeller Airports on long-term leased land, the terminal earned recognition as the world's best regional airport by Monocle magazine and among USA Today's best small airports in the United States.

The terminal's signature feature centers around its living room concept beyond security - a welcoming departure lounge inspired by premium airport lounges, featuring timber-accented Pacific Northwest interiors and a striking freestanding fireplace. Travelers are greeted by a concierge desk within a lobby evoking boutique hotel elegance, while the single security checkpoint and two-gate configuration ensures passengers can move from curb to gate in ten minutes or less. Premium amenities include Beecher's Handmade Cheese café, locally operated concessions showcasing artisan touches, and comfortable lounge areas with integrated charging stations and free high-speed WiFi.

The architectural design thoughtfully incorporates the region's aviation heritage, offering excellent views of Boeing's flight line and seamless integration with the nearby Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing factory tours. Construction began mid-2017 and was completed in February 2019, with the facility serving Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, and Kenmore Air operations.
