Bilaspur Airport (PAB)

Bilaspur Airport (PAB), officially known as Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport, is a developing domestic facility located in Chakarbhata, approximately 6 miles (10 km) south of Bilaspur city in Chhattisgarh, India. The airport operates from a single passenger terminal that has recently been upgraded to support regular commercial flights. It serves as a vital aviation link for the northern and central regions of the state, connecting the industrial city of Bilaspur to major hubs like Delhi and Kolkata. The terminal infrastructure is compact and designed for efficiency, providing essential amenities for domestic travelers. Facilities include standard check-in counters, a security screening area, and a departure lounge equipped with comfortable seating. While the airport does not house full-service restaurants, travelers can find small kiosks offering light snacks, tea, coffee, and other refreshments within the waiting areas. The facility is fully accessible, featuring specialized restroom facilities and staff assistance for passengers with reduced mobility. Operationally, the airport is primarily served by Alliance Air, utilizing ATR-72 turboprop aircraft for its regional routes. Current infrastructure includes a 5,036-foot (1,535m) asphalt runway, with ongoing government plans to expand the field to a 4C category, which will involve a new terminal building and night landing facilities to accommodate larger jet aircraft. Ground transportation to the city center and the Bilaspur Junction railway station is readily available via local taxis and auto-rickshaws located directly outside the terminal exit.
