Hpa-N Airport (PAA)

Hpa-An Airport (PAA) is a small regional aviation facility serving the capital of Kayin State in southeastern Myanmar. The airport features a single, modest passenger terminal building that was originally designed to handle domestic regional flights. However, as of early 2026, the facility is not operational for scheduled commercial airline traffic and primarily serves government, military, or occasional private charter missions. The terminal infrastructure is extremely basic and lacks modern commercial amenities such as retail shops, restaurants, or currency exchange desks. While the building provides essential shelter and a functional waiting area for authorized travelers, most standard airport services found at larger hubs like Yangon are not available. Travelers and pilots are advised to be completely self-sufficient and to handle all logistical needs in the Hpa-An town center prior to arrival. The airfield features a single 4,502-foot (1,372m) asphalt runway (03/21) and is situated at an elevation of 41 feet. Ground transportation to central Hpa-An, located just a short distance from the airstrip, is informal and typically managed via private vehicle or local taxi arrangements. Due to the ongoing regional situation, travelers are strongly encouraged to verify current security advisories and permit requirements before attempting to utilize this facility.
