Zagora Airport (OZG) is a regional aviation facility located in southern Morocco, approximately 8 miles (13 km) southwest of the city of Zagora. The airport operates from a single, compact passenger terminal designed to facilitate tourism and regional travel to the Sahara Desert. It acts as a critical link for visitors heading to the Erg Chigaga dunes, significantly reducing travel time compared to the long mountain road journey from Marrakesh. The terminal infrastructure provides basic essential amenities, including a small café and snack bar in the landside public area where travelers can enjoy traditional Moroccan mint tea, coffee, and light snacks. While the building lacks modern luxury lounges or extensive retail outlets, it features a small shop for travel essentials and local souvenirs. The facility offers free Wi-Fi throughout the passenger areas and functional waiting zones for arrivals and departures. Ground transportation to central Zagora is primarily supported by 'petit taxi' services, with the journey typically taking 15 to 20 minutes. Many local riads and hotels also offer pre-arranged private shuttle services for their guests, which is often the most reliable option for those with significant luggage.
