Olavarria Airport (OVR)

Olavarría Airport (OVR), officially known as Aeródromo Municipal de Olavarría, is a regional aviation facility located in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. The airport features a single, compact passenger terminal building that primarily handles private, official, and emergency medical flights. It acts as a vital infrastructure link for the city of Olavarría, situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) northeast of the city center.

The terminal infrastructure is functional and focused on essential flight operations, providing basic waiting areas, check-in desks, and administrative offices for the Argentine Air Force. The facility is uniquely equipped for 24-hour night operations, making it a critical hub for sanitary evacuations and organ transplant logistics within the province. While it lacks modern commercial amenities like retail shops or dining outlets, it offers a sheltered environment for passengers and crews.

The airfield features a substantial 7,218-foot (2,200m) asphalt runway (04/22) capable of accommodating medium-sized jet aircraft, alongside a shorter secondary grass strip. Although there is no regular scheduled commercial airline service at OVR, the airport is frequently used for private corporate travel and flight training. Ground transportation to central Olavarría is informal, typically managed via local taxis or private vehicle arrangements.
