Gold Coast Airport (OOL), also known as Coolangatta Airport, is a modern, single-terminal facility uniquely situated in Bilinga, Queensland, straddling the border with New South Wales. The terminal operates across two levels, with arrivals, baggage reclaim, and car rental counters on the ground floor, and departures and airline check-in on the first level. Despite its cross-border location, the entire airport operates strictly on Queensland Time (AEST) year-round. The terminal offers a wide range of passenger amenities, including approximately 16 dining options such as Paradox Coffee Roasters, Hungry Jack’s, and The Sand Bar. Travelers have access to 13 retail outlets, including duty-free shopping for international passengers, and two airline lounges: the Qantas Club and the Virgin Australia Lounge. For those with specific needs, the airport provides a dedicated Adult Accessible Change Facility and sensory zones to assist with navigating the terminal environment. Ground transportation is well-developed, with frequent bus services (Route 777) connecting the airport to the G:link tram network at Broadbeach South. Taxis and rideshare ranks are located at the southern end of the terminal, and over 3,000 parking spaces are available across premium, terminal, and budget zones. The terminal is open for all scheduled flight operations but closes nightly around 11:00 PM, with sleeping inside the building not permitted.
