Marmul Airport (OMM)

Marmul Airport (OMM) is a private aviation facility owned and operated by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), serving the extensive Marmul heavy oil field in the Dhofar Governorate. The airport features a modern, fit-for-purpose passenger terminal designed to efficiently handle the flow of petroleum sector staff and contractors. It acts as a critical link between the remote inland oil operations and the national capital, Muscat. The terminal infrastructure includes dedicated check-in counters, air-conditioned waiting areas, and a conveyor belt system for baggage handling. For safety and security, the building is equipped with CCTV monitoring and passenger screening facilities. Ground handling services are provided during daytime operational hours by Transom, and the airport maintains on-site refueling capabilities managed by Shell Marketing Oman. Operationally, the airport is primarily served by Oman Air, which provides regular scheduled charter flights to Muscat International Airport (MCT). The field is equipped with advanced navigational aids, including a VOR-DME system and modern airfield ground lighting. Access to the airport is generally restricted to authorized PDO personnel and contractors, with a dedicated parking area located near the main entrance for staff transfers.
