Okmulgee Regional Airport (OKM)

Okmulgee Regional Airport (OKM), also known as Paul and Betty Abbott Field, features a significant piece of aviation history with its terminal building. Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1943 and dedicated the following year, the historic terminal is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. While it primarily serves as hangar space today, it remains a landmark of the airport's legacy, housing specialized radial engine repair facilities. The modern operational needs of the airport are met by a separate public terminal building that provides a comfortable base for pilots and passengers. This facility handles Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services, which are owned and operated by the City of Okmulgee. Travelers have access to essential amenities, including a pilot lounge and flight planning areas, facilitating both local and transient general aviation operations. For aircraft services, the airport provides 24-hour automated self-service fueling for both 100LL Avgas and Jet A+. The field is attended during standard business hours from Monday through Saturday, offering major airframe and powerplant repairs on-site. The infrastructure includes a well-maintained 5,150-foot concrete runway (18/36) equipped with pilot-controlled lighting and modern navigational aids like the Okmulgee VOR/DME located nearby.
