Los Roques Airport (LRV) serves as the exclusive aviation gateway to the stunning Los Roques Archipelago National Park in Venezuela. Located directly on the main island of Gran Roque, the airport is integrated into the village itself, allowing many travelers to walk from their aircraft to their 'posada' (inn) in just a few minutes. The facility primarily handles domestic short-haul flights from Caracas and Higuerote, utilizing small turboprop aircraft that provide passengers with breathtaking aerial views of the turquoise lagoons and coral reefs during approach. The terminal experience at Los Roques is basic and rustic, reflecting the protected and remote nature of the archipelago. The terminal itself is a simple open-air structure where check-in and waiting take place. Upon arrival, all visitors are required to stop at a dedicated counter to pay the National Park entry fee, which is essential for the conservation of the local ecosystem.
