Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (LKO) serves as the primary aviation hub for Lucknow and the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. As of early 2025, the airport has fully transitioned its major operations to the newly inaugurated Terminal 3 (T3), a massive state-of-the-art integrated facility designed to handle up to eight million passengers annually. This modern terminal features an architectural design inspired by the regional culture, including artwork depicting the historic 'Ghats of Varanasi,' and consolidates most domestic and international flight services under one roof. The T3 facility is equipped with advanced technology to enhance the passenger experience, including 72 check-in counters with self-baggage drop systems and 62 immigration counters for efficient processing. Inside the terminal, travelers have access to a wide array of amenities such as premium business lounges, multi-cuisine food courts, and extensive duty-free shopping areas. The terminal is also fully integrated with the DigiYatra system for paperless entry and security screening. For families, dedicated baby care rooms are available, and the entire facility provides free high-speed Wi-Fi and numerous mobile charging stations. Ground transportation to and from the LKO terminal is exceptionally well-coordinated, with the CCS Airport Metro Station located within a 100-meter walk of the T3 complex, providing a 20-minute connection to the city center. Additionally, dedicated pickup points for app-based cabs like Uber and Ola, as well as pre-paid taxi stands, are situated directly outside the arrivals hall. As a primary focus city for carriers such as IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air, the airport provides critical links to major Indian cities and international destinations in the Middle East.
