Karshi Airport (KSQ)

Karshi International Airport (KSQ), also identified as UTSK, is a primary aviation hub serving the city of Karshi and the Qashqadaryo Region in southeastern Uzbekistan. Located approximately 8 kilometers from the city center, the airport features a modern, single passenger terminal that was reconstructed to efficiently manage both domestic and international traffic. The facility operates under an "Open Skies" regime, supporting a variety of scheduled and charter services from major carriers like Uzbekistan Airways, Silk Avia, and Turkish-based regional operators. The terminal building is designed to accommodate approximately 200 passengers per hour, offering a range of amenities for both leisure and business travelers. Inside, passengers can find specialized facilities such as a Mother and Child room, a medical first aid station, and a VIP/CIP hall for official delegations and premium travelers. The airside zone features a small Duty-Free area with local souvenirs and international goods, along with several snack bars and cafes providing refreshments for those awaiting connections to hubs like Tashkent, Moscow, or Istanbul. Infrastructure at Karshi Airport is centered around a 2,700-meter concrete/asphalt runway (16/34), capable of handling medium-sized jet aircraft. Recent modernization efforts have included the installation of digital passenger information systems and upgraded security screening measures to align with international standards. Ground transportation to the Karshi city center is highly accessible, with a dedicated taxi rank and local public transit links located directly outside the terminal exit, providing a quick 10-to-15 minute connection for arriving visitors.
