Sary-Arka International Airport (KGF) is a premier aviation and logistics hub serving the city of Karaganda and the wider Central Kazakhstan region. As of early 2026, the airport has undergone a significant transformation under the 'Gargohub Karaganda' project, evolving into a world-class multimodal center. The facility features a modern, integrated passenger terminal that efficiently manages both domestic and international traffic, acting as a critical gateway for the region's mining and industrial sectors, as well as a primary alternate for the national capital, Astana. The terminal's layout is organized across two primary levels to optimize passenger flow. The ground floor (Level 1) is dedicated to check-in, arrivals, and baggage reclaim, featuring modernized digital self-service kiosks alongside traditional ticketing counters for major carriers like Air Astana and SCAT. The upper floor (Level 2) serves as the secure airside hub, containing security screening zones, passport control, and spacious departure waiting lounges.
