Jabalpur Airport (JLR), also widely known as Dumna Airport, is a significant domestic aviation facility serving the city of Jabalpur and the broader Mahakoshal region in Madhya Pradesh, India. Located approximately 25 kilometers east of the city center, the airport acts as a primary link for the region's educational hub and the growing administrative and defense sectors. In March 2024, a major milestone was reached with the inauguration of a new, state-of-the-art passenger terminal spanning over 115,000 square feet. This modern integrated facility is designed to handle up to 800 passengers during peak hours, providing a sophisticated entry point for travelers exploring the marble rocks of Bhedaghat and the tiger reserves of central India.

The technical infrastructure at Jabalpur has been extensively upgraded to support increased commercial traffic. It features a single asphalt runway (06/24) that has been recently extended to 2,750 meters (9,022 feet) in length, making it the second-longest in Madhya Pradesh. This runway capacity allows the airport to handle medium-sized jet aircraft, such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 models operated by major carriers like IndiGo. The airfield is equipped with modern Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) and enhanced night landing facilities, ensuring high operational reliability. The expansion project also included the construction of a new 32-meter-high air traffic control tower and a 5-kilometer approach road, significantly improving the airport's overall logistical capability.

Passenger amenities within the new Jabalpur terminal are world-class and focused on modern convenience. The facility includes a selection of waiting areas with contemporary seating, several cafes and snack bars serving local Madhya Pradesh cuisine, and a dedicated CIP (Commercially Important Person) Lounge for premium travelers. Essential services such as 14 check-in counters, three aerobridges, and advanced baggage handling systems are well-integrated into the layout. Free Wi-Fi is available for travelers, and the terminal's design ensures efficient passenger flow from check-in to the boarding gates. Its strategic location at the edge of the Dumna Nature Reserve ensures that arriving passengers can reach the city center or local business districts in about 45 to 60 minutes via a well-organized transport network.
