Hengyang Nanyue Airport (HNY), located in Yunji Town, Hengnan County, is a modern regional aviation facility serving the city of Hengyang in China's Hunan Province. Opened in December 2014 to replace the aging Bajialing Airport, the facility is named after the nearby Mount Heng (Nanyue), one of the Five Sacred Mountains of China and a major pilgrimage destination. The airport spans over 14,000 square meters and features a 2,600-meter runway capable of accommodating mainline narrow-body aircraft like the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. It serves as a vital transportation link for both the region's industrial sector and its significant religious and cultural tourism, handling nearly 900,000 passengers annually. The passenger terminal is a contemporary, two-story structure designed for high efficiency and seamless passenger flow. The ground floor is dedicated to arrivals, featuring streamlined baggage claim carousels and convenient access to ground transportation.
