Qeshm Dayrestan International Airport (GSM)

Qeshm International Airport (GSM), also widely known as Dayrestan Airport, is the primary aviation gateway to Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf, Iran. Situated near the village of Dayrestan, approximately 20 to 50 kilometers west of the main urban centers, the airport serves as a critical link for the island's free trade zone and its unique ecological tourism sector. It handles a consistent flow of domestic traffic from major Iranian hubs and facilitates regional international connections, playing an essential role in the economic development of the largest island in the Persian Gulf. The facility features a single, compact integrated passenger terminal that efficiently manages both domestic and international operations across two main levels. The first floor is dedicated to arrivals, baggage claim, and check-in counters, while the second floor houses the security screening zones, departure lounges, and a specialized 3,000-square-meter Hajj terminal. This dedicated Hajj facility operates seasonally to accommodate the high volume of pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia. The airport's layout is designed for intuitive navigation, ensuring that walking distances between all passenger processing areas are kept to a minimum. Amenities at GSM are designed to provide a comfortable pre-flight experience for regional travelers. The terminal houses several restaurants and cafes serving traditional Persian refreshments and international snacks, alongside a variety of shops selling unique local handicrafts and travel essentials. Essential services such as free high-speed Wi-Fi, currency exchange desks, and 24-hour parking are readily available. The airport is also the focus of significant future expansion plans, which include the addition of over 4,000 square meters to the existing terminal and the construction of a new control tower to support the island's growing international profile.
