Golmud Airport (GOQ) is a critical aviation facility located in Golmud, Qinghai Province, China, serving as a vital link for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Situated at an impressive altitude of approximately 2,800 meters (9,324 feet) above sea level, it is recognized as one of the highest commercial airports in the world. The second floor houses the security screening checkpoints and comfortable departure lounges. This modernization project also included the lengthening of the primary runway, enabling the airport to accommodate larger narrow-body aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families.
