Dzaoudzi-Pamandzi International Airport (DZA) is the primary aviation hub for the French overseas department of Mayotte. Located on the island of Pamandzi (Petite-Terre), the airport underwent a major modernization in 2014 with the opening of a new 7,800-square-meter passenger terminal. This facility was designed with sustainable architecture in mind, featuring natural ventilation and local stone to harmonize with the tropical environment. It serves as a vital link between Mayotte, metropolitan France, and neighboring Indian Ocean nations.

The terminal building is organized over two levels, offering a modern experience for both international and regional travelers. The ground floor handles check-in, arrivals, and baggage claim, while the upper level houses the departures lounge and security screening. Amenities include duty-free shops, a few local boutiques, and several dining options serving French and Mahoran cuisine. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, and the airport also provides car rental services, ATMs, and a dedicated VIP lounge for eligible passengers. Despite its modern facilities, the airport remains compact, ensuring quick transit times for most passengers.

A unique logistical aspect of traveling to DZA is the connection to Grande-Terre, the main island where the capital, Mamoudzou, is located. Upon arrival, passengers typically take a short taxi ride to the nearby ferry terminal to board the 'barge' (car ferry), which crosses the lagoon every 30 minutes. Air Austral and its subsidiary Ewa Air are the dominant carriers at the airport, providing frequent services to Saint-Denis (Réunion), Paris, and regional destinations in Madagascar, Comoros, and Tanzania. Travelers are advised to account for the ferry transit time when planning their arrival at the airport, especially during peak travel periods.
