Aeropuerto Internacional Mariano Matamoros (CVJ)

General Mariano Matamoros International Airport (CVJ), located in Temixco, serves the city of Cuernavaca and the state of Morelos, Mexico. Often referred to as the 'City of Eternal Spring's' airport, the facility features a two-story passenger terminal that handles domestic and occasional international charter flights. The airport has a single asphalt runway (02/20) measuring 2,926 meters, which is capable of accommodating narrow-body aircraft like the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320, though it is currently most active as a hub for executive aviation, private charters, and several prestigious flight training schools.

The terminal building provides essential services for passengers, including check-in counters, a waiting area, and basic security facilities. While it lacks the extensive shopping and dining options of a major international hub, the terminal offers a professional environment with facilities for migration and customs, as it is designated as an official Airport of Entry. The airport's infrastructure also includes a dedicated general aviation terminal, numerous private hangars, and a control tower that operates during daylight hours. Transit at CVJ is exceptionally straightforward due to the terminal's compact layout, with gates located on the ground level allowing for a quick walk to the aircraft. However, there are currently no regular scheduled commercial airline services like Aeroméxico operating at the site, as most passenger traffic for the region is diverted through Mexico City International Airport (MEX), located approximately 60 kilometers to the north. For those arriving via private or executive flights, ground transportation is readily available via authorized taxis and car rental agencies located in the arrivals hall. The airport also offers a short-term parking area and is well-connected to the Autopista del Sol, facilitating rapid travel to Cuernavaca and the nearby resort town of Tequesquitengo.
