Choibalsan Airport (COQ/ZMCD) is a significant regional aviation facility located in the Dornod Province of eastern Mongolia, serving the country's fourth-largest city, Choibalsan. As a primary air link for this vast and resource-rich region, the airport provides essential transportation for local residents, the regional mining and energy sectors, and governmental operations. It primarily facilitates domestic flight operations, including regular scheduled services that connect Choibalsan with the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, often operated by the national carrier, MIAT Mongolian Airlines. The terminal building is a functional and well-maintained facility designed to manage the regional passenger volume efficiently in the harsh Mongolian climate.
