Patrick Space Force Base (COF)

Patrick Space Force Base (COF/KCOF) is a premier military aviation facility located between Satellite Beach and Cocoa Beach in Brevard County, Florida. As the headquarters for the Space Launch Delta 45, the base plays a critical role in supporting the United States Space Force's missions at the nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and the Kennedy Space Center. It serves as a primary hub for military transport, search and rescue operations, and logistical support for global space launch activities.

The airfield's passenger facilities are primarily designed to handle the movement of military personnel, their dependents, and authorized government contractors. There is no traditional commercial passenger terminal for the general public; instead, the facility features a military air terminal (often referred to as the PAX terminal) that provides essential check-in and waiting areas for those traveling on Space Available (Space-A) or official government orders. Amenities within the military terminal are focused on functional necessity, including basic seating, clean restroom facilities, and information kiosks regarding flight schedules and base regulations.

Operational capacity at Patrick Space Force Base is supported by a significant paved runway (03/21) measuring approximately 9,000 feet in length, which is capable of supporting almost any aircraft in the U.S. military inventory, including the C-5 Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster. Navigation through the facility is exceptionally straightforward for authorized personnel, with clear markings and military protocols in place. For ground transportation, the base is well-connected to the surrounding Space Coast communities via Highway A1A, with military shuttle services often available for on-base transit and official business.
