๐จ๐ณ Bazhong (Enyang), China
Bazhong Enyang Airport (BZX) is a modern regional airport serving Bazhong, a city in the northeastern part of Sichuan Province, China. Officially opened to traffic in February 2016, the airport is a crucial transportation hub for the Daba Mountains region, connecting it with major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Its development is integral to enhancing the economic and tourism potential of Bazhong, particularly its rich cultural and natural attractions. The airport features a single, compact passenger terminal that efficiently handles all domestic arrivals and departures. The terminal building, spanning 5,000 square meters, is equipped with a range of passenger-friendly facilities including several cafes and eateries offering a mix of local and European cuisine, located primarily in the public area before security control. Travelers can also find shops selling souvenirs and travel essentials, VIP lounges for enhanced comfort, free Wi-Fi throughout, and numerous charging stations for electronic devices. Operational infrastructure at BZX includes a 2,600-meter runway, classifying it as a 4C airport capable of accommodating various medium-sized passenger aircraft. The airport is designed to handle up to 900,000 passengers annually. Ground transportation options are well-established, with shuttle buses providing convenient connections to the high-speed rail station and the city center. Taxis are also readily available, ensuring seamless travel for passengers to and from the airport.
Bazhong Enyang Airport (BZX) is a modern, Class 4C domestic airport serving northeastern Sichuan Province and the Daba Mountains region. As a relatively small facility, navigating the terminal is straightforward, but onward connections require some local knowledge. The most convenient public transit option is the Airport Shuttle Bus, which operates on a route connecting the terminal to the Rongbang International Building and the Bazhong Agricultural Bank in the city center. Tickets cost approximately CNY 10, and departures are conveniently timed to coincide with flight arrivals (usually 30 minutes after landing). For those needing to connect to China's high-speed rail network, Bazhong East Railway Station is the primary hub. While there is no direct rail link at the airport, a taxi ride to the station takes about 40 to 50 minutes and costs roughly CNY 50-60. Alternatively, you can take the airport shuttle to the city center and transfer to a local bus. A unique advantage of BZX is its proximity to Enyang Ancient Town (ๆฉ้ณๅค้), one of the regionโs major cultural attractions, located just 6 to 10 kilometers from the terminal. A taxi or Didi ride to the ancient town takes only 15 to 20 minutes, making it an easy 'layover' destination if you have a few hours to spare. While ride-hailing via the Didi app is widely available and efficient, travelers should be aware that English signage outside the airport is limited. It is highly recommended to have your destination address written in Chinese characters to show your driver. Finally, for domestic departures, arriving at the terminal 90 minutes before your scheduled flight is generally sufficient.
