Security screening is after check-in in the A/B hall and before boarding at Terminal E, with additional checkpoints at B for non-Schengen flights. Morning European peaks typically see 10–20 minute waits, but transatlantic banks in the afternoon can stretch to 25+ minutes; dedicated priority and family lanes help smooth flows. Schengen-to-non-Schengen transfers clear exit passport control before taking the Skymetro, while non-Schengen arrivals to Schengen re-enter via immigration in the E arrival pier. Customs checks occur in the arrivals hall before exiting to the public area.
Amenities include multiple Swiss and Star Alliance lounges across A, B/D, and E, with the flagship SWISS lounges near A and E. The Airside Center between A and B/D offers a large food court, fine dining, duty-free, supermarkets, and services like showers and nap rooms; Terminal E adds panoramic bars and a visitors’ terrace. The airport is fully accessible with elevators, ramps, tactile paving, and assistance desks in each terminal.
