Bokeo International Airport (BOR), also known as Ton Pheung Airport, is a premier aviation gateway serving the Golden Triangle region of northern Laos. Inaugurated in February 2024, the airport operates from a state-of-the-art passenger terminal building spanning 5,478 square meters. The facility is strategically located near the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone (GTSEZ) and serves as a vital strategic hub for international trade, investment, and tourism in the border region where Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar meet.
The terminal is intelligently organized across a functional single-level layout that blends modern architectural standards with traditional Laotian motifs. It features a spacious check-in hall equipped with digital kiosks, a streamlined security and immigration zone, and an integrated departures lounge designed to accommodate up to 600 passengers simultaneously. The facility is currently optimized to handle approximately 2 million annual travelers, primarily hosting domestic links from Lao Airlines and Lao Skyway to Vientiane and Luang Prabang, with rapid expansion plans for direct international services to major cities in Thailand and China.
