You must then re-check your bags at the domestic counters and pass through security. This typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, though it is wise to allow a buffer for potential weather delays.
Conversely, if transferring from a domestic flight to an international departure, your baggage is often checked through to your final destination. However, because most smaller Greenlandic airports lack security screening, you must exit to the public area at GOH and pass through the main security checkpoint to reach the international gates. This transfer is generally very quick, often completed in under 30 minutes. It is recommended to arrive at least two hours prior to international departures to ensure a stress-free experience. For ground connections to central Nuuk, the Nuup Bussii city bus (Line 3) is the most economical option at 15 DKK.
