๐ข Terminal Information
Karpathos Island National Airport (AOK) features a modern terminal building that was expanded between 2005 and 2009, covering 12,500 square meters. The terminal efficiently handles both domestic and numerous seasonal international flights, particularly during the summer tourist season. Amenities include a mini cafe/snack bar offering light refreshments, and a small duty-free shop for perfumes, cosmetics, and local products.
Despite its international traffic, AOK does not offer dedicated airport lounges. Other facilities include an information desk, an ATM, currency exchange services, and several car rental offices. Public transportation, including taxis and buses, is available directly outside the terminal. Passengers should note that strong winds (meltemi) can affect boarding on the apron, especially during summer.
๐ Connection Tips
Arrive early in summer high season; limited gates.
