๐ข Terminal Information
Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport completed a major $153 million expansion in July 2023, increasing passenger capacity from 2.5 to 6 million annually. The airport now features a new modern terminal building with four air bridges, VVIP pavilion, gyms, salons, coffee bars, and children's play area. The facility includes both international and domestic terminal buildings, with the existing terminals undergoing renovation through 2024. The airport operates on a 4,725-metre runway capable of handling wide-bodied aircraft including Airbus A380. Advanced facilities include updated baggage handling systems, security scanners, docking systems, secondary radar, airfield ground lighting, and enhanced communication infrastructure. The expansion project was China-funded and constructed by China Jiangsu International, modernizing Zimbabwe's primary aviation gateway. Two new aprons accommodate increased aircraft movements, while renovated tarmacs, car parks, air traffic control systems provide comprehensive operational support.
