The island of Mejato is notably home to a significant population of displaced people from Rongelap Atoll, who were relocated here due to the long-term effects of historic nuclear testing.

It consists of a small, open-air pavilion that provides essential shelter from the tropical sun and rain for arriving and departing passengers.
