Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport (DKR) in Dakar, Senegal, historically served as the primary international airport for the capital city. However, commercial passenger flights were largely transferred to the new Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS). As a result, DKR now primarily handles military, general aviation, cargo, and occasional charter or VIP flights.
The terminal facilities, while historically designed for international passenger traffic, are no longer fully operational for commercial passengers. The layout may retain elements of its former function, but public amenities such as extensive retail, diverse dining options, and commercial lounges are significantly reduced or non-existent.
